I have to admit something. Christmas and Valentine's Day are a struggle for me to scrap. I don't know why, they just are. But this week I started creating with the February Birds of a Feather kit and I had a great time! I never mix red and pink, since I don't really use pink, but red and pink are so fun together! I really love the word/definition cards that come with the kit too. I had and an old photo booth strip that I wanted to use so I gave the page a casual feel. I layered my pink paper on to red paper, folded down the top corner and added a paper clip. I used some chipboard letters that Amy sent me and painted them with the red paint. It was my first time using a doily on a page too! Added the word card, some sequins, arrows, initials and distressed the edges with the paint! Done!
I had to make a Valentine's Day card next. I posted a sequins pocket idea at the BOAF forums the other day and wanted to give it a try. I used some clear packaging, cut up some patterned paper to fit in the clear package and added sequins. I stapled the top shut to keep the sequins from falling out and covered the staples with the big speech bubble. I added one of the word cards in the kit and there you have it! A cute little card that I think will be going to my daughter.
I really did have a great time creating this week and plan on doing more this weekend! Make sure you share with us what you create with the kit. The gallery is always open for adding more inspiration! Happy Scrapping!
