Happy New Year & An ST Sketch Challenge!

Happy 2012 to everyone! Hope you had a good time ringing in the new year. Ours was nice and mellow which was fine with me. (a change from when I was younger and had to be doing "something" or I wasn't cool!)

I hope to organize a bit this year. I say it every year but this house needs some major organizing so we have a bit more room for things. Wish me luck...i'm going to need it.

I plan on scrapping a lot this year too! Between scrapping and my Project Life I should have a lot to work on. If you are in the scrapping mood head on over to the Sketchy Thursdays Blog and get some inspiration. This weeks sketch is another great one. It's Monday

Happy Monday everyone. I have one kid home today not feeling too well. Grrr! Can't be sick now. I'm pretty sure she was sick last year at this time too. Hopefully it doesn't last long.
I am going to try and finish my Christmas shopping today before Paul has to leave for work. I know what I have to get so that should make it a little easier.

It will be up for 2 weeks since this week is Christmas and they are pretty sure no one will get much scrapping done this week. Where the heck did November go people?? I know I say it every year but it just seems to have blown by this year. Maybe it's because I'm 40 now and time is going faster. I have 6 months and I'll be 41...I like 40 better. lol.
I need to get going on my Christmas shopping. I have a few stocking stuffers for the kids and one present for Kate. But that is it.
I also need to start some calendars on Snapfish.com that I make for the grandparents. I am way behind on that too.

I did manage to fit some scrapping in for our sketch at Sketchy Thursdays. Check out the 12.01 sketch and my take on it. If you can squeeze in some scrap time between shopping I hope you will post a layout based on the sketch. you know there is always a great prize involved!

Happy Friday and Happy Veterans Day. Thanks to all the past and present men and women who sacrifice their lives for ours.

This week has gone so slow and I'm looking forward to the weekend. No big plans. I need to clean the house, do the laundry, take Kate to riding lessons, visit my nephew, make sure homework gets done...you know, all that normal stuff. Oh, and maybe take some more pictures of these two...

I need to take some pictures for our Christmas cards but if I don't get them to cooperate for more pictures, which is a huge possibility, I will use this one. They do look pretty cute. And they look like they love each other. :)

I gotta say how much I enjoy being a part of the Design Team for Sketchy Thursdays. There is so much inspiration from the DT to the members. And of course, there are the wonderful sketches! They really give me that extra push to design a page. That's why, if you haven't been over there to visit the ST blog, you need to! This is the last sketch for October and it is so much fun! Simple... but you can do so much with it!

This is my take on the sketch. I had to do a Halloween page since Trick-or-Treating is right around the corner!

I decided to go a little more simple on my layout with the background words. I never type on my layouts so this was fun for me. I think it adds something. And of course there's the picture of Kate acting all sad the night before school started. She was sad but this picture makes it look like she will be tortured when she gets to class. LOL!

I say it every year and every single year I am always surprised. SCHOOL STARTS TOMORROW! Where did the summer go? I am not looking forward to getting up early, getting the kids out the door on time, homework, schedules and just the whole routine. But I am looking forward to some QUIET time!! That I can not wait for. But I will tell you, these two aren't looking forward to school starting.

My 4th grader and 7th grader! Man, time really does fly. Here's hoping for a great school year. One more day of vacation...going to enjoy it!

For several years I have been a part of a great DT at The Mosy Scrapper. The site is owned by Christa Weldon and I have enjoyed getting to know her through our shared hobby. I have also enjoyed getting to know several of the girls on the site with me. Recently, Christa made the decision to close the site and end the design team. I am very sad to see it come to an end but I completly understand why she did it. I hope we continue to stay in touch and maybe in the future get something going again! Sick Kid and A Creation

I have poor Tyler home with me today. Actually it's the 2nd day. He got sick last week, thought he was better. No such luck. Sore throat, fever, bad cough and a stomach ache. Just took his temp about 15 minutes ago and it was 102. He said he actually feels worse. Been to the doc's twice and he told me now he has a ear infection. Which I'm not seeing. I think we have a misdiagnoses. Damn it! I just hope he is feeling better real soon. And I really hope that Kate doesn't get sick for her b-day on Saturday. (fingers crossed)

I did manage to finish altering this cool printers tray. I've had it up on the wall partially finished and just felt the need to get it done. I like it. Now I need to get another one. Maybe make one for my mom and dad with the grandkids' pictures.

A sicky on Christmas?

Kate woke up around 5 a.m. today crying. Not feeling good, a little warm, and sick to her stomach. NOOOO!
Today my usually active 8 year old slept the day away. Along with her high fever she was achey and tired. I feel so bad for her and I am crossing my fingers that tomorrow she is better and she can enjoy Christmas Eve at Grumpy and Grandmas.

(Ok, can I just say, "man is she cute when she is just laying there sleeping... with Dexter...all quiet.")

I hope she is feeling better for tomorrow. If not, the family better wear there germs masks b/c we are coming over anyway!

Are You Ready?

It's almost time. I can't believe it. Christmas is almost here. We have 3 more days since we celebrate with my family on Christmas Eve. My mom and dad have the whole family over for good food, good times, and lots of presents. The kids can not wait. The countdown is on. Then on Christmas day we celebrate with Paul's family. Paul has to work that night so his mom is having it a little earlier so we can be there. I am done shopping, after going out into the craziness yesterday to finish up. Man...holiday spirit is hard to find out in stores and on the roads! But I am done and just have to tackle the wrapping.

Locker Practice & A Camera Hog

Oh, it's starting. Middle school happenings. On Tuesday and Wednesday, we went up to the middle school to get Ty's locker # and combination! He got to practice opening it and he was a pro! (of course we bought him a combination lock to practice with this summer!) We put some supplies in is locker and he added a football picture to make it his for the first day of school. I only took my point and shoot for pictures. Didn't want to embarrass him at the new school with my big camera! I think he is pretty excited now. Starting a new school and being a little more independent. I still don't think 6th grade should be middle school, but I'm excited for him. I'll cry the first date I'm sure. Because that's what I do. I cry...a lot! My baby is not a baby. Less than two weeks until the first day. It's bittersweet!

These other pictures are just here because they make me laugh. The kids were swimming and Dexter and I sat on the deck watching. I said his name and he took over the camera. Such a ham!

Over at The Mosy Scrapper I posted a challenge. Scrap something you don't like. It can be anything. Food, bills, clothes, habits. As long as you don't like it, you can scrap it. For me, I chose one of my least favorite foods. THE DREADED HOT DOG! It was an easy choice b/c of the wonderful button Christa made for me from her Etsy shop. She knows I hate hot dogs so she sent me a hot dog button with my August Dt package. I may hate the dog...but the button is so cute. Here's a close up:

I took some picture of Kate eating her lunch. (hot dog) and used those for the page. I had a good time with this one. Even though I really don't understand how she eats them! Here's the way it tuned out...

Poor Blog

I just don't pay attention to the blog. The blog is ignored. Poor blog! But I am back...for now! Lots of summer things going on and we are loving it. Hot weather and the pool. That is our days until school starts in about 3 weeks. Can't believe that. Ty will start his first year in middle school. I'm sure Ty will do great on the first day. Me, on the other hand? Not so good. Kate is going into 3rd grade. Time is just flying. I've managed to do some scrapping for The Mosy Scrapper. Having fun over there. It's been awhile. I just can't seem to post on my blog. I'm a blog neglector. Shame on me! A few things have happened since the last time I posted. We got a new puppy, the kids are on summer break (pics later), and I've got new layouts done for The Mosy Scrapper. The puppy's name is Dexter and he is now 13 weeks old and just wonderful. We LOVE him! The kids are already in summer mode and so am I. Tyler graduated from 5th grade and I am so proud of him. No more elementary school. Can not believe it. September he will be going to middle school. How did that happen?

I managed to scrap a few things with our June Kit from "Little Black Dress".

He's a Pitcher...

This year, Tyler's coach asked him to be one of the pitchers. He was pretty excited even though he has never pitched before. Yesterday his team scrimmaged with another team and he was the first pitcher.

I'm not sure if this is a mom thing, but I was so nervous for him. Paul thought I was weird but come on...his first time pitchingfor a "pretend" game, in front of a bunch of strangers, that is nerve wrecking. Of course, I have no idea if Ty was nervous. I guess I was nervous for the both of us.
There is also the factor of being in direct line with the batter...he could get hit!! (which one of the moms on the team reminded me of...thanks other mom...like I need another reason to worry!) He did pretty well. A few of the dads told me he looked good. YEAH!
At one point in the game I looked away from Tyler's mad pitching skills and I hear Paul say..."OH! He got hit in the face!" (he said this calmly b/c that is just how Paul is). I stayed calm on the outside but inside I felt like hopping the fence and running to help! (I know...I know) Luckily the ball hit the ground first then bounced up and hit him in the nose. So, he managed to walk away with just a bad bloody nose. (which he gets all the time)
Tomorrow is their first REAL game and Tyler is the teams first pitcher. I will be going to the store today to get him some protective face gear! (Totally kidding, but I think I might get a mouth guard like a few of the other kids were wearing.)
I am really proud of him for taking the pitching position! I know he will do a great job!

Back on the Team

I am so excited! After six months of taking a break, I tried out again for a spot on the DT at The Mosy Scrapper. I am happy to say that I made it! 8th Birthday Haircut

Last Friday was Kate's 8th Birthday! She went from this in the morning...

To this in the afternoon...

I love the haircut, but boy, did the stylist do a crappy job. I am still so mad about it. (I have a hard time getting over things!) First of all I told her I wanted it touching her shoulders...it's not. Second, who doesn't wash someones hair when they are about to cut it all off? She sprayed it a little with the water bottle but for the most part it was dry. Which means, that the ends were ALL uneven. Now, how hard can it be for someone who cuts hair for a living to go from straight long hair to straight short hair? I guess it was harder than I thought! I took her back the other day to get it fixed up and it looks much better. Not perfect, but she could only do so much without going WAY shorter. I know it will grow but in the mean time I'm looking at uneven hair! I'm glad Kate could care less and she does look really cute with this cut!

The other day I took the kids to Science/Math night up at school. I didn't want to go but being the wonderful mother I am, I took them. Well it ended up being nothing like last years and this, ticked my darling little daughter right off. And in turn, ticked me off. When that girl doesn't like something she does not hide it. I'm not going to go into the whole story but she did end up in a bit of trouble. Yelling, crying, taking away of favorite stuffed animals, grounded from the computer...what a night. And all because she didn't like what was at the school. As her mother, I have to teach her that it is NOT ok to be a "brat" even though things don't go your way. She's smart...she should know better. But she is also stubborn. What a mix! I think she learned a little lesson though, so I have no regrets on grounding her for 2 whole days.
And this would be the face that started our trip down hill. (A friend managed to snap a picture so I have proof!) Oh the terrible 2's have nothing on this 7 year old.

Oh that face...she is lucky I love her dearly!!

Kate and I got to go to the rodeo with her riding instructor and a few other people last weekend. It was our first time and it was pretty interesting. Got to see the bull riders...those guys are freakin crazy! Kate had a great time...even got a little taste of PETA. That was interesting. She is already telling me we have to go to another one...such a country girl!
This week, the kids had the entire week off school for winter break. They drove me a little crazy but most of the time they were pretty good. Back to school on Monday.

So, today we got enough snow to get a snow day for the kids. They were so excited. So excited, that they couldn't find it in their hearts to sleep in. They were up by 7:30 a.m. which is before the time we get up for school. Thanks kids!
They were outside of course. Lots of snow so that means snowballs needed to be made. (And thrown at each other.) Grandma bought them snowball makers a few years ago and they love them. No handmade snowballs for my kids! They need cool contraptions!

I was outside taking pictures for awhile but then I came in and managed to get a page done. It's a challenge for a BOOK OF ME over at the Mosy. I managed to get it done and plan on doing more pages about me. Even though it's hard to do! Thanks Christa for getting me going on this!

Now, it's getting later and I need to go practice spelling words with Tyler. Have a great rest of the week!

Ok, so I'm a little late with the New Year wishes. A month late. But who the heck is counting!! So far, we have had a pretty good start to the year. The kids are doing well in school, Kate is still taking riding lessons and Ty is playing basketball. We are keeping busy.
I am finally getting back to scrapbooking. The past few months I just didn't have any creative urges. Didn't make layouts, didn't make cards and didn't even shop for scrap supplies! But, I am happy to say, I think I am coming back to scrapbooking life! I missed it! Sitting at my desk when the house is quiet is so relaxing. And I just missed putting a page together.
Over at The Mosy Scrapper, Julie gave us a challenge to use a funky picture. This is the layout I did for that challenge! (thanks for the inspiration, Julie!)

This morning Tyler had a basketball game. They won 15-10. I'm telling you, these boys are getting more and more aggressive. They have changed a lot this year. Even Tyler had a foul called on him. (We did tell him he needed to get more aggressive - and I guess that's what happens!) Now they are 3-1 for the season. GO MAGIC!
Other than that, nothing overly exciting is going on. It is cold over here in Michigan. No snow...which if fine with me since people in MI tend to forget how to drive when it snows. Even though we get it ever single winter. Oh well, going to enjoy the weekend. Hope you have a good one too!

Can't get away from SICK

So...it's been about 2 weeks since Kate started getting sick. I think she if finally getting better. Bronchitis...which wasn't diagnosed at first b/c doctors don't listen to the mom...don't they know the mom knows better then the doctor? Well, after our 4th visit to the doctors office in a week, they finally said she is much better. But we are starting another antibiotic since the cough is still there. Ugh. And now, Paul has a sinus infection. He came home early from work this morning. 3:30 a.m. to be exact. Almost got beat up by me when I heard someone walking in the living room. He should have called me to let me know he was coming home...don't you think? Scaring his wife. Really nice. I have a cold and managed to hurt my lower back. Needless to say, this is not turning out to be the greatest week. Hopefully we are all ok for turkey day. Need to get the germs out of this house!

This poor blog! So neglected. I was on TMS and thanks to Julie I am over here with a new post. Thanks Julie! Not that I have tons to talk about but I guess I could post a few new pictures from this month.
Yesterday I went with my sister and friend Shelley to go see NEW MOON...OH DID WE LOVE IT! It was so good! Really looking forward to the next one. Anyone else see it?
I haven't scrapped much. Not feeling creative at all. Last weekend I did scrap with some friends at Dena's and got caught up on some journaling for my 365 Kit. Managed to do 2 layouts too.
Here are some pictures that I took at Beth and Matt's. They didn't turn out that great but the kids look cute.

Cole didn't want to smile much but of course he is still adorable! Kate loves her cousin. Can you tell? Tyler looks way to old in these pictures. Makes me want to cry!

First I have to say HELLO!!!! to Julie...she is checking to see who blogged today. So...HELLO JULIE! Thanks for getting me to post on my blog finally! I've been neglecting this thing for a while now!
Today is my 11th wedding anniversary!!! I am so lucky to have such a wonderful hubby. He really is a great guy and a great dad. I look forward to many more years together...driving each other crazy and making each other laugh!
It's a cold rainy day today. The kids have a Fun Run at school this afternoon that I am helping out with. It's to raise money for the school. Hope it stops raining.
Kate is on a pleading rampage today. A friend of mine bought her daughter a guinea pig and Kate has been wanting one. Last night I made the HUGE mistake of saying "Maybe one day we will get one." Kate, being 7, heard this...
"Yeah, sure we will get one!!!" This morning she got ready for school and watched a video on the computer about taking care of them. Anyone have a guinea pig and have some reasons why I should or shouldn't have one????

Tomorrow is my 20 year High School Reunion. I went back and forth about going and finally decided to go. Now that it is here I am actually pretty excited. I will have to post pictures! Got the black dress to hide the things that need to be hidden...LOL...and I'm ready to see some old friends!

Come ALL!!

We want to find our NEXT Guest Designer for the month of AUGUST!! Is it you?

Here's what you need to do:

1.) First sign up at THE MOSY SCRAPPER and become a member. Get a acquainted with all the ladies on the board, post some comments (a minimum of 25 posts to enter please), take a look at the SUMMER CHALLENGE and participate!

2.) Enter your take on a sketch for the August GDT call (see Valerie Salmon's sketch below). Turn it into the TMS Gallery (GDT Call entries folder) on the message board along with the items you used in your creation. Please make this a "new" layout and never before seen.

3.) ALSO...enter your most FAVE layout you have made (can be new or old) into the same folder found in the TMS gallery and in the description tell us why it's your favorite.

4.) Have these 2 entries in by July 19th at Midnight ET into the TMS gallery.

5.) Winner will be notified by PM no later than July 21st!

6.) Reign will begin August 1st - August 31st

7.) Duties of the August GDT:

-participate on the message on a regular basis,
-post at least ONE guest designer challenge,
-create at least 4 items using the sponsored kit (donated by Serendipity Scrapbooks!!)

Back in the Saddle and Back in the Pool

Summer has arrived! Of course, today is not a great example of it, (only in the low 60's this week) Last week we spent most of our time at Grumpy and Grandma's in the pool...with those goggles. It was in the high 80's and low 90's. And Kate is back in the saddle with riding lessons. We love her new trainer, Ann Marie. Kate is learning so much and I am even a part of caring for the horses! Swimming, staying up later, running outside, lessons, more swimming...no school, tans, mosquito bites, friends...got to love Summer!

I got one of my birthday presents yesterday!!! My wonderful Aunt bought be a Nikkor 55-200mm lens!!! I am so excited. Isn't it pretty? Ty had a game last night and I brought it with me to play around. Just love being able to get up close without really getting up close!! I need to practice but I really had fun with it. I can already tell I am going to LOVE it!!

I have one for you for the month of June. Contest starts now thru June 15th!! Here are the scrappy details:

We scrapbook emotions, and family.
We scrapbook events.

This time around, lets scrapbook the things in our life that aren't people or animals...the laundry, going back to school, your faith, your job, etc.

The challenge for June is to take a photo of something in your life (that doesn't breathe!) and scrap it. Be creative with your photo and what you scrap! The sky is the limit - just make sure your subject isn't alive!

Send in these entries to mosyscrapper@hotmail.com by June 15th, midnight ET to be entered into a drawing for a GRAND PRIZE!!! Check out the layouts that the DT did to get you motivated!

The grand prize if from LemonTreeStudio!! Get your pages in!

We have a lot of challenges that will be going on this Summer and they are now worth points. When we post challenges they will be given a point value. The more challenges you do, the more points you get. At the end of the summer, there will be a grand prize drawing!! So start getting creative!

TMS has also starting FLARE to the forum!! There are a lot of different ways to earn flare. One is as easy as just signing up on TMS. Check it out in the forum. Who doesn't like a little bit of flare?

A couple new layouts I did recently. I made the circle on the Sassy layout by using the inside of an "o" foam stamp. I painted the edges and stamped away. It was an easy and cheap way to make some circles on my page. I even managed to do a few stitches on my page. The Uncle Mark layout is one I did at a 12 hour crop last weekend. Love the October Afternoon papers. They have such great stuff.

This past Saturday was Opening Day for Tyler's baseball league. Tyler was REALLY excited about the first game. This is his first season in the Minors. Well, I have not posted in a long time. I'M BACK. I guess I just haven't had much to say or show you. Not much new going on. The kids are on Spring Break this week. We haven't done much but I am taking them to the zoo tomorrow. Supposed to be around 62 degrees!!! How about that for some wonderful Spring weather! Yippee!!

I've been working on some cards for an exchange that I am doing at The Mosy Scrapper. I have to make ten cards and send them out to Lori. Here's one of them. I just LOVE the American Crafts, CRAFT FAIR collection! But what don't I like from American Crafts?

THE MOSY SCRAPPER is looking for ONE Guest Designer to be on it's team for the month of May. Do you have what we are looking for? Want to get a kit to scrap with for FREE and join in on some fun with the best scrap ladies there are out there?

Then this call is for you!

Call is from March 28th - April 11th, midnight ET. ALL entries are welcomed!

RULES:
1.) Must have 25 posts to the TMS message board to enter.
2.) Please use the sketch provided (from PageMaps) to make your entry, rock it out. Show us your stuff!

I never really cared to watch this movie, didn't expect much. But Saturday night I was flipping through the channels, we had free Starz, and "What Happens In Vegas" was on. My sister had told me about it so I thought I would watch it. I was laughing my butt off!! Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diez are hilarious in it. So, if you are looking for a goofy movie and a good laugh...give it a go! I loved it!

7th Birthday

Katie turned 7 today. I really can't believe it. Although I should because she actually acts like she is 17 instead of 7. She got to open her gifts from us. Which included roller skates and some new toys and a present from her Grumpy and Grandma. We went out to dinner to celebrate so we had a nice time! I just can't believe she is getting so big. Before I know it she will be starting high school or getting married. Makes me want to cry! HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATIE!

We are back from the DEAD...

There were some NASTY STUBBORN bugs running around our house for over a week. Last week Sunday, Tyler started getting sick. Cough, high fevers, chills, sweats, aches, nausea just plain yucky. By Tuesday, Kate started with the same things. Wednesday night Paul and I were both feeling the same way. So now the entire family is down! Not fun having sick kids when you don't feel well either. Paul was better by Friday and Kate went to school. Tyler managed to be out the entire week AND missed his last basketball game Saturday b/c his turned into bronchitis. (and they won so he was a bit bummed about that) I was in bed pretty much the entire time. Haven't been that sick in a long time. Today is the first day I actually feel like moving! I will be doing laundry and wiping down everything with Clorox wipes. I need to make sure those damn bugs are DEAD! Hope everyone else managed to stay healthy. Off to disinfect!!

Hmmm...wonder why Chrysler is struggling...

My new 3 day old van is in the service department as I type. NOT HAPPY AT ALL! Tuesday morning Paul went out to start it and it wouldn't start. He actually had to jump it. Since then we haven't had any problems with it starting. Yesterday I noticed that the passenger door looked like it was open. I opened it, closed it again and there it was...a nice gap in the door. WHAT THE HELL! So, this morning we took it in to be looked at. Did I mention I am not happy AT ALL?? The service guy called me and said that there is nothing wrong and can't see what would cause it to die. They also alligned the door. I really can't believe that I had to take my brand new van in already. It is so wrong and makes me nervous. If this happened within 3 days, what should I expect in the next 3 months?? Hopefully nothing...I'll think positive!

Update:We picked up the van and the door looks much better. They told me I should have no problems. Knock on wood!! Now I can relax and enjoy my new ride~

New Car

Well, after extending our lease on the Pacifica for a month we finally had to turn in our lease and actually BUY a car. Or should I say van. I'm really excited to have a van again. (Yes, I like having a minivan!) The only thing I'm not excited about is the new car payment.

I LOOOOOVE IT!!!

The colors are so much fun and I love the conversation bubble patterned paper!!! They have paper with lips, hearts, stars, stripes, dots, radios...so much fun. I don't have a teen, but Kate acts like one, so it works out!

Well, I did it! I managed to clean and organize my little scrap corner. I really didn't think I could do it. Me and organization don't mix. But I just couldn't take it anymore. There was no room to scrap and it was getting out of hand. So...this is the end result...

I'm so excited about it being organized that I'm afraid to start scrapping again. Don't want to mess it up. Here's a little peak at the top of my desk 2 weeks ago...

Worked on some layouts...finally!

Last night I was up until 1 scrapping my butt off. You know how it is. Once you get going you don't want to stop. I managed to get a few layouts done. One is for The Mosy Scrapper DT. The January kits are wonderful...take a look! And the other was just for the sake of doing a layout.
I did this one just b/c I couldn't wait to scrap these pictures of Kate...

Christmas and the New Year

Well, after all of the shopping, running around, hiding gifts in the basement, wrapping, celebrating with family, Christmas is OVER. Every year I am always surprised by how fast it all goes by. We had a great Christmas. Lots of new toys for the kids to play with. Including a new Wii!! Ty and Kate were beyond thrilled with that! They had NO clue. Tyler even started to cry tears of joy. (So glad I had the video camera ready for that one)
Today I went through all the new clothes the kids got and started washing them. Not only did they get a lot of toys, they got a lot of clothes too. Thanks to my generous Aunt!
So, the next celebration will be New Years Eve! Any plans? We have none. Which is fine with me. I told my sister they could come over if they have no plans so we will see.
I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas and will have a safe and fun New Year celebration!

Blog Change

I was looking through my blog and felt like changing the colors. I think it looks good. I was getting tired of the black background.
I'm a little under the weather today. Not sure what the heck I have. Just know I really feel that great. Achey, sore throat, and tired. Fun. I just hope it doesn't last for Christmas. I still need to get a few presents too. Nothing like last minute shopping. I do it every year. You would think I would learn. I don't look forward to the last minute crowds. People just get nasty.
I haven't done a lot of scrapbooking but I did manage to get a few layouts done this past week.

One is for a challenge I posted at The Mosy Scrapper and the other is for a page idea that Christa posted.

My YouTube Star!

My son's class wrote and put together a video to put on YouTube! It is based on the Discovery Channels "Boom De Yada" commercial. They did a fantastic job...I know I'm biased, but they really did! They want to get a ton of hits so feel free to visit and watch their fun video.

Roller Skating Rock Star!

Kate was invited to a Roller Skating Birthday Party 2 weeks ago and can I tell you...IT WAS SO FUN! Kate had never been roller skating before and I didn't know how well she would do. We got there, got the skates, had them tighten the wheels a bit so she didn't roll into a wall at full speed, and we put the skates on!!! Right away she started rolling around on the carpeted area. Got a little annoyed b/c the wheels didn't move enough. So, had to get one side UNtightened. Much better!
She started off slow but after a bit, MAN, was she flyin! Her friends managed to get her off the carpet and onto the rink. That lasted all of 3 minutes. After a hard landing on her butt, the slippery floor didn't appeal to her. So, the carpet was where she stayed. But it didn't slow her down. It was hilarious watching her and her friends. Skate, skate, fall...(and hard). Get back up, skate, skate, skate, FALL, get back up! Start all over! She had a blast and I loved watching her fly around at full spead. Now, she is asking for her birthday party to be at a Roller Rink. We have until March but I think it's a great idea! I used to LOVE going to the rink when I was younger and cool! (LOL!) I might just put on some skates next time we go!

The December kit is on sale now at The Mosy Scrapper. The kits Ralphie and Crystal are so cute! Christa really put together some great Christmas kits. I did a few pages with the Crystal kit. I really have a hard time with Christmas layouts for some reason but I managed to get one out.

I also did a layout with the kit that wasn't Christmas themed. I used some pictures of Kate making picture taking more difficult than it needs to be!

3 day get away with my husband!!

Paul and I went away for 3 relaxing days to celebrate our 10th Anniversary! We went up north to a ski resort and it was GORGEOUS! Really quiet too since it is off season! Here's a few pictures from our trip! Wish it didn't go by so fast.

Scrap Weekend with an AMAZING view

I went away this weekend with my best friend. We did a scrap weekend which raised money for Breast Cancer. We only went about 45 minutes from home but it was a good time. I actually managed to get 14 layouts done and 8 cards. (That is really good for me.) Laughed alot and enjoyed having a relaxing weekend away. But I did miss my kids and husband. One of the best things about the camp we stayed at was the AMAZING view. Wouldn't you love to wake up to that every morning?

Altered Coffin

I found these wood coffins at Michaels last week and I just had to alter them! (and I don't usually do much altering) I am going to put some candy inside and give them to the kids for Halloween. I think they will like them. I used We R Memory Makers BLACK OUT collection from the TRICKSTER KIT at The Mosy Scrapper! There are two great kits up this month. I think I have to go grab more coffins so I have them...just in case!

Poor Tyler broke his ankle last month when he was at school. He has been in this cast since the 26 and he is SOOOOO happy to be getting it off next week. The poor kid didn't get to have his birthday party because he can't play Laser Tag. Tomorrow he has a birthday party to go to and they are playing Laser Tag at the end and he can't play. Needless to say he is counting the days until the cast gets taken off. I can't wait for it to come off either...it's starting to smell!!! That foot needs some fresh air. (LOL!) The birthday party is rescheduled and Tyler is ready to walk without a cast and boot!
